The Likelihood of Lucy by Jenny Holiday
Pub. Date - May 26, 2015
5 stars

Trevor Bailey now ranks as one of my favorite historical romance heroes... ever.  I think that a lot of personal preference goes into how much a reader likes a romance novel, but I absolutely loved this story and these characters.  Lucy and Trevor grew up on the streets of London, children of prostitutes, they lived a hard life made better because they always had each other.  After being separated for many years, Lucy show up at the door of the hotel that a now wealthy Trevor is about to open and the past and present come colliding together. Their simmering attraction is interwoven with heart-wrenching flashbacks that make this an emotional and satisfying read.   I finished this book in one night and woke up this morning tempted to read it again... which hardly ever happens.  I was fortunate to receive an electronic galley of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

At the Spy's Pleasure by Tina Gabrielle

Gareth Ramsey was born into the aristocracy but has had to make his own living... as a divorce lawyer helping men dispose of their wives.  His job alone has made him cynical towards love but add into his dangerous side gig as a spy and he is about the least likely person to marry.  Jane, widowed for two years, has decided that the marriage game just isn't for her either and is now in the market for a lover.  As Jane becomes unknowingly entangled in one of Gareth's spy missions, the sparks and emotions fly.  For some reason, I find Gareth's occupation as a divorce lawyer hilarious and that really made this novel more interesting to me.  I liked the characters and thought their chemistry came across very well on the page.  The ending seemed oddly rushed but overall I thoroughly enjoyed this historical romance novel. I received an electronic galley of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
