Touching on different periods in which America has struggled
with racism, Antisemitism, hatred and division, Meacham uses history to show
that we’ve faced difficult times before and will in the future. If you read history books often, this will
not be anything new but I suggest reading this book for the conclusion
alone. Thoughtful, hopeful and highly
informative, I almost tore the conclusion out of my copy in order to staple and
carry with me at all times (don’t worry, I didn’t mutilate my book.) I initially received this book as a digital
ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
